Naman Dhir's 42 off 15 seals India's record T20I chase
India chased 226 to beat New Zealand by four wickets in the first T20I at Hagley Oval on Thursday, completing their highest successful run chase in the format. Naman Dhir remained unbeaten on 42 off 15 balls, the highest score by an Indian batter from number seven or lower in a successful T20I chase.
Sanju Samson scored 67 off 33 and Shreyas Iyer made 42 as India recovered from a middle-order collapse. Dhir broke Irfan Pathan's previous record of 33 not out set in 2009.
