Australia win toss and bowl first in Durban ODI
Mitchell Marsh won the toss and Australia chose to bowl in the series opener at Kingsmead.
Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and elected to bowl in the first ODI against South Africa at Kingsmead in Durban. Jack Edwards was handed an ODI debut while Josh Inglis took the gloves in place of Alex Carey.
Cameron Green returned to the XI as Australia opted for a pace-heavy attack. South Africa made two changes, bringing back Gerald Coetzee after three years and adding Bjorn Fortuin to a spin-heavy side.
Aiden Markram was unavailable for personal reasons. Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs were omitted as the hosts prepared for a 10am local start with a breeze across the ground expected to assist movement early on.
