Neeraj Yadav found dead in Delhi after doping ban

Three-time Asian Para Games gold medallist Neeraj Yadav was found dead in Delhi. The para-athlete had tested positive for stanozolol in an out-of-competition test in October 2023.

The Asian Paralympic Committee subsequently stripped Yadav of two gold medals won at the Hangzhou Games. No official cause of death has been released by authorities.

Yadav’s case had drawn attention to doping controls in para-sport in India ahead of future international events.
