New Zealand confirm replacements for injured Chapman and Foulkes
Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner replace injured Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes in New Zealand's T20I squad.
New Zealand have turned to all-rounder Josh Clarkson and fast bowler Blair Tickner after Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes were ruled out of the five-match T20I series against India. Chapman tore his left hamstring in the European T20 league last month, while Foulkes strained his right hip flexor at a Canterbury training session. Chapman should be fit for the ODIs, but Foulkes has no set return date.
Head coach Rob Walter said he was disappointed to lose both players but welcomed the new arrivals. The series starts at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 22 and finishes in Hamilton on November 1. Mitchell Santner leads the 16-man squad that includes Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips and Lockie Ferguson.
Clarkson and Tickner now have just two weeks to get ready before New Zealand play the T20 World Cup holders.
