Nicola Carey named Hobart Hurricanes captain for WBBL 12

Nicola Carey has been appointed captain of Hobart Hurricanes for the upcoming WBBL 12 season. Elyse Villani retired after leading the defending champions to their first title.

Heather Graham has been named vice-captain. Carey has played 147 WBBL matches, including 88 for Hobart, and previously served as Villani's deputy.

Carey said the appointment is a tremendous honour and she aims to maintain a positive team environment while encouraging an attacking style of play. The Hurricanes begin the new campaign with zero points in the standings.
