Nigar Sultana to step down as Bangladesh T20I captain after Asian Games
Nigar Sultana will step down as Bangladesh T20I captain after the 2026 Asian Games. The decision comes after a 114-run semi-final loss to India at Korogi Sports Park.
Sultana told reporters the move was about her batting, not the board. She said the side had just two days of practice in Japan before rain washed out the rest, and they were bowled out for 81 chasing India's 195 for 4.
Bangladesh play Pakistan for bronze on September 22. Sultana believes their record against Pakistan gives them a chance there.
