Northants all-rounder Justin Broad ruled out for rest of season

Northamptonshire all-rounder Justin Broad is out for the rest of the 2026 season with a lower back injury sustained during the current campaign. In nine first-team appearances, he's barely had a chance to stake a claim.

Broad will focus on rehabilitation over the off-season, with no return date set. Northamptonshire have already been hit hard by injuries this year — losing him now removes a useful all-round option from the middle order and seam attack as the County Championship and limited-overs competitions head into their final weeks.

The club expects him back for pre-season training in 2027.
