Over 1.1 million ticket applications submitted for 2027 ODI World Cup in first 48 hours

More than 1.1 million ticket applications were submitted for the 2027 ODI World Cup within the first 48 hours of the ballot opening, according to organisers. The India-Pakistan group-stage match in Johannesburg drew the highest demand, attracting over 110,000 applications. India's opening fixture against Australia in Cape Town received over 86,000 requests, while the India-South Africa clash attracted more than 92,000.

India's first three group-stage fixtures occupy the top three positions in ticket demand. The pre-seeded Super 7 match against Pakistan on November 7 has drawn nearly 78,000 applications, and the final in Johannesburg has attracted close to 69,000. The ballot remains open until November 21.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the response demonstrated the event's global stature. The 14-team tournament will be staged across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 2 to November 21.
