Devdutt Padikkal to captain India A against Australia A
Devdutt Padikkal said captaincy helps his batting as he prepares to lead India A against Australia A from September 22.
Devdutt Padikkal will lead India A in two four-day matches against Australia A that begin in Puducherry on September 22. The Karnataka batter said his previous captaincy experience with the state side will help him adjust to the new role.
Padikkal scored two centuries in India's recent Test series against Sri Lanka and finished as the team's top run-getter with 328 runs. He has since secured the number three position in the Test batting order.
Ruturaj Gaikwad will captain the one-day side during the same tour. Padikkal said the extra responsibility of captaincy has helped his own batting in the past.
