Pat Cummins names Cheteshwar Pujara as toughest Indian batter faced
Cummins chose Pujara over Kohli and Rohit, citing his patience and refusal to offer scoring chances.
Australia captain Pat Cummins named Cheteshwar Pujara as the toughest Indian batter he has faced. Cummins said Pujara was happy to face 100 dot balls and would not give bowlers a chance.
Pujara scored 2,074 runs in 25 Tests against Australia at an average of 49.38. Nearly half those runs came in Australia, where he hit three centuries and five fifties.
Cummins picked Brendon McCullum from New Zealand, Saeed Ajmal from Pakistan, Alastair Cook from England, AB de Villiers from South Africa, Tillakaratne Dilshan from Sri Lanka and Chris Gayle from the West Indies.
