PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi says the changes made during the England Test series were essential and that critics who have done nothing themselves do not affect him.
The board released seven players and two coaches from the squad after Pakistan's 194-run defeat at Lord's. Naqvi said the overhaul was necessary to address ongoing performance issues.
The third Test begins on September 9 at Edgbaston. Pakistan trail the series 0-2.
