PCB sacks seven players and replaces coaching staff after Lord's defeat

The Pakistan Cricket Board has executed a major mid-tour overhaul by releasing seven players and replacing coaching staff members following their heavy 194-run defeat to England in the second Test at Lord's on Sunday. The board has asked Mike Hesson, the New Zealander who runs their white-ball teams, to replace Sarfaraz Ahmed as interim head coach.

Pakistan sit at the bottom of the World Test Championship table after this 15th defeat in 20 Tests. The second Test loss at Lord's, a 194-run margin, prompted the immediate changes ahead of the third Test at Edgbaston.

Five uncapped players have been added to the squad as replacements. The overhaul comes with Pakistan already confirmed to lose the series after going 2-0 down.
