Pragyan Ojha appointed BCCI chief selector

Pragyan Ojha, who took 10 wickets in Sachin Tendulkar's farewell Test, succeeds Ajit Agarkar as BCCI chief selector.

Pragyan Ojha became chairman of selectors on Monday, taking over from Ajit Agarkar. The 40-year-old joined the panel in September and had been acting interim chairman since then.

He played 24 Tests, 18 ODIs and six T20Is for India between 2008 and 2013. His career highlight came in Tendulkar's farewell Test in Mumbai, where he claimed 10 wickets against West Indies. After first-class cricket with Hyderabad, he captained Bihar in the Ranji Trophy until 2018.

A suspect action report in 2014 led to rehabilitation and clearance the following year. He later served as the Indian Cricketers Association representative on the IPL governing council before moving into selection.
