Pragyan Ojha named BCCI men's selection committee chairman

Ojha replaces Agarkar as chairman; Powar joins the panel after CAC interviews at BCCI headquarters.

The BCCI appointed Pragyan Ojha as chairman of the men's selection committee on Monday. Ojha succeeds Ajit Agarkar, whose term ended on October 4, 2026. Ramesh Powar was added to the five-member panel after a Cricket Advisory Committee review.

The committee now comprises Ojha as chair, Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra and Powar. Ojha takes the role on seniority, measured by the number of Test caps among the members. Powar represented India in two Tests and 31 ODIs and has coached the India women's team, Mumbai and Gujarat.

Agarkar oversaw India's victories in the 2024 and 2026 T20 World Cups, the 2025 Champions Trophy and two Asia Cups. The BCCI thanked him for his service during that period.
