Thailand bowl first as Pratika Rawal makes T20I debut for India

Thailand captain Putthawong won the toss and elected to bowl first against India in their Women's Asia Cup 2026 Group A match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. ESPNcricinfo reported that Thailand's stand-in captain hoped to restrict India to around 120 runs. The decision came despite India's strong recent record against the Thai side.

India handed T20I debuts to Pratika Rawal and two other players for the fixture. The selection reflects India's rotation policy during the group stage. Rawal becomes the latest player to receive an international debut in the Asia Cup format.

Thailand have made several changes to their playing XI following their nine-wicket loss to Sri Lanka. The side will need early breakthroughs to prevent India from building a substantial total on a pitch that has favoured batting in recent matches at the venue.
