Pratika Rawal says it feels good to be back after century in Zimbabwe ODI win

Rawal returns with a century as India seal a nine-wicket win in the series opener.

Pratika Rawal scored an unbeaten 100 off 96 balls as India Women beat Zimbabwe by nine wickets in the first ODI in Vadodara on Friday. Rawal struck 15 fours and shared an unbroken 106-run stand with Shafali Verma, who made 64 not out off 33 balls.

India chased down 198 in 27.1 overs after Shree Charani took 4 for 23 to restrict Zimbabwe to 197. Kranti Gaud claimed three wickets and Deepti Sharma took two as Zimbabwe lost regular wickets after a patient 62 from Beloved Biza.

Rawal said after being named Player of the Match that it felt good to be back in the middle and contribute by batting long. She added that accepting injuries and breaks as part of the game had helped her approach. Captain Smriti Mandhana said the bowlers adapted well on a new ground but identified fielding and middle-over intensity as areas to improve.
