Why was Sanat Sangwan left out of North Zone’s Duleep squad?

Ravichandran Smaran finished the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy with 950 runs, the most by any batter. The 23-year-old says he wants a shot at India in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. His next stop is the Duleep Trophy for South Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

After six months away from red-ball cricket, Smaran has been using Karnataka's state league to adjust to the longer format. He's also sharpening his play against spin, adding sweep and reverse-sweep options to his game.

He insists he doesn't carry the weight of expectations, just keeps scoring. A good Duleep campaign, he says, should set up the rest of the season.
