Rahmat Shah joins Virat Kohli in elite Test captains list

Afghanistan captain Rahmat Shah has joined an elite group of Test captains after a strong all-round performance in the one-off Test against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi. The 28-year-old's achievement places him alongside former India captain Virat Kohli among those who have led their side in the longest format.

Rahmat's inclusion in this list reflects Afghanistan's continued development as a Test-playing nation since gaining full membership in 2017. His leadership comes during a period when the side continues to build experience in the five-day game against established opponents.

The performance adds to Afghanistan's growing record of competitive showings in Test cricket despite limited opportunities to play the format at the highest level.
