Rain threat looms over India-West Indies T20I series decider in Bengaluru

Thunderstorms are forecast for Saturday evening, raising the possibility that rain could affect or interrupt the series decider.

India and West Indies will play the fifth and final T20I at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday with the series tied at 2-2. The India Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy skies with thunderstorms and lightning around the 7 pm start.

India added Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the squad after Arshdeep Singh sustained a shoulder injury during the fourth T20I in Hyderabad. The 36-year-old returns to the T20I side for the first time in nearly four years. International cricket returns to the venue after a gap of two years.

West Indies have relied heavily on Shai Hope, who has scored centuries in back-to-back matches across formats on this tour. The Chinnaswamy pitch and short boundaries typically produce high totals. India have conceded scores above 200 in three of the four completed matches.
