Rajeshwari Gayakwad says she received no response after contacting captain and coach
Gayakwad says she got no response after contacting the captain and coach, insists age is not the issue, and will play WPL for Gujarat Giants.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad last represented India in a home Test against South Africa in 2024. Her previous ODI came in 2022, her last T20I in 2023. She has 99 ODI wickets for the national side.
Gayakwad said the knee surgery was her only major injury, and she performed strongly in the Women's Premier League while topping the domestic wicket-takers list. Injured players usually return for the next series, she added, and age was not the reason behind her non-selection. She stated she received no clear reply after attempting to reach the captain and coach.
She is set to feature for Gujarat Giants in the upcoming WPL season.
