Ramesh Powar and Ashish Zaidi tipped for BCCI junior selection roles

Former India off-spinner Ramesh Powar and Uttar Pradesh fast bowler Ashish Zaidi are frontrunners to join the BCCI's new national junior men's selection committee.

Powar may become chief junior selector and West Zone representative if appointed. Zaidi could fill the Central Zone position. Both have applied for the five-member panel that will replace the committee headed by S Sharath.

The incoming panel will select age-group teams up to Under-22 for coaching camps and junior fixtures against domestic and international opposition.
