Rasikh Salam returns to RCB after ban and injuries for title win

Rasikh Salam featured for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026 after serving a two-year BCCI ban related to a birth-certificate issue and recovering from injuries. He took three for 27 in the final against Gujarat Titans as part of the title-winning effort. The pacer expressed his long-term goal of representing India in international cricket.

Salam highlighted the growing opportunities for players from Kashmir in both the IPL and the national setup. His contributions came after a period away from the game that included the ban and subsequent rehabilitation. RCB captain Rajat Patidar acknowledged the all-round support from the bowling unit during the successful campaign.

The side secured back-to-back titles with the five-wicket victory at Narendra Modi Stadium. Salam's return added depth to the attack that restricted Gujarat Titans to 155 for eight.
