Ravi Shastri receives signed copy of Jeffrey Archer's final novel days before author's death

Former India coach Ravi Shastri received a signed copy of Jeffrey Archer's final novel Adam and Eve just five days before the author's death on October 5. Archer died peacefully at his home, with the book released worldwide the following day.

Shastri paid tribute to Archer's abilities as a writer, describing him as a brilliant mind with extraordinary pace and quality of writing. Archer's final novel follows two children born on the same day in 1918 but into vastly different circumstances, with their lives intersecting during World War II.

Archer was one of Britain's most commercially successful authors, with more than 300 million books sold worldwide. His best-known works include Kane and Abel and The Clifton Chronicles.
