Kohli Crosses 300 Sixes, 800 Fours in GT Rout

Dropped first ball, Kohli piled 81 with eight fours and four sixes to hit twin milestones and chase 206.

Virat Kohli edged uppishly through the slips on nought off Rabada. Though the GT fielder missed it, the ball raced for four. He drove the next ball to long-on with precise timing. This secured his 800th IPL four after early momentum.

Devdutt Padikkal smashed six sixes in 27 balls while partnering Kohli's explosive 81 off 44. Their 115-run stand ate into GT's 205 for 3, which Shubman Sudharsan built with a hundred off 58 balls including 11 fours and five sixes that thrilled Chinnaswamy fans. RCB chased it in 18.5 overs with five down. The Friday crowd spilled onto the concourse early, roaring in celebration over the dominant win.

Kohli hit his 303rd IPL six against GT in this rout, leaving him eight shy of 9000 runs. Gayle holds the record with 357 sixes, while Rohit has 310 as next rival. Padikkal made 55 before late wickets fell. Yet he accelerated into power hitting, piling fours on sixes to energize fans in the thrilling chase.
