Rishabh Pant to face second fitness test within two days
Pant failed his first fitness test and will face another assessment soon. He remains unlikely to play India A's third unofficial Test.
Rishabh Pant will undergo a second fitness assessment within the next two days after failing the first test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. He has been recovering from a side strain since October 23. Pant is unlikely to play India A's third unofficial Test.
Kumar Kushagra replaced Pant in the first two India A matches while Dhruv Jurel kept wickets. Pant could join the senior squad directly in Wellington if he passes the upcoming assessment. The first Test against New Zealand begins on November 19.
Coach Gautam Gambhir said he has no information about Pant's availability for the Test series. Jasprit Bumrah has already departed for New Zealand and is expected to feature in the third India A match.
