Rishabh Pant overtakes Shubman Gill as India's leading WTC run-scorer
Rishabh Pant has become India's leading run-scorer in the World Test Championship after overtaking Shubman Gill during the second Test against Sri Lanka. The wicketkeeper also broke MS Dhoni's record for the highest runs by an Indian wicketkeeper in away Tests.
Pant achieved the milestones despite retiring hurt on day one after being struck on the wrist by a bouncer from Lahiru Kumara. He resumed his innings on day two and added to his tally.
The 28-year-old now sits atop India's WTC run charts with multiple matches remaining in the current cycle.
