Rishabh Pant retires hurt after being hit on wrist by Lahiru Kumara bouncer

Rishabh Pant retired hurt on day one of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo after being struck on the left wrist by a bouncer from Lahiru Kumara. The wicketkeeper-batter attempted a pull shot in the 58th over and gloved the ball. The team physiotherapist applied an ice pack and taped the wrist before Pant walked off. Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak later stated that Pant seems fine and should be available to bat on day two. The injury occurred while India were building a substantial first-innings total.
