Rohit Sharma commits to 50-over format ahead of 2027 World Cup

Former India captain focuses solely on ODIs and prepares for 2027 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma said he is managing his fitness and preparation independently after retiring from Tests and T20Is. The 39-year-old captain stated that his approach to the 50-over format remains unchanged despite external discussion about his future.

Speaking before India's ODI series against the West Indies, Rohit emphasised staying fit and watching the game remain essential. He noted that he now handles his preparation on his own schedule, something he could not do during 15 years of constant touring.

Rohit scored 32 off 35 balls in the first ODI against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram. He said he is looking forward to the 2027 World Cup and will continue with the same energy and intent.
