Rohit Sharma reveals how he chose jersey number 45

Rohit Sharma first wore number 19 in Under-19 cricket because single-digit numbers were taken. A teammate told him 19 belonged to Rahul Dravid and wasn't available for India.

He phoned his mother the same evening to ask for a new number. She picked 45. Rohit has 12,120 ODI runs and 35 centuries, including 604 runs at 50.33 in 12 innings this year.

India's five-match ODI series against New Zealand begins November 4 at Eden Park.
