Root: England must earn back nation's trust after latest off-field incident

England Test captain Joe Root said the team must earn back the trust of the nation after his return to the captaincy was overshadowed by the latest off-field incident involving Brydon Carse.

Root described the events as stupid mistakes that do not reflect the standards the side wants to set. He said the focus must remain on performance at Lord's.
