Ruturaj Gaikwad hits winning run in record 406 chase

Ruturaj Gaikwad hit the winning single as India completed their highest successful ODI chase, reaching 406 against West Indies with eight wickets in hand. The target was overhauled in 43.3 overs at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

It was the second time a target above 400 has been chased in ODI history, after South Africa's 435 against Australia in 2006. India also recorded their ninth innings above 400 in ODIs, the most by any team.

Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 223 and Rohit Sharma made 101 in the record chase. The win sealed the three-match series 2-0 with one game remaining. The final ODI will be played in Mullanpur on Saturday.
