Sachin Tendulkar says Sooryavanshi is not ready for leadership

Sachin Tendulkar stated that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi should not take on a leadership role at this stage of his career. The comment came after the 15-year-old's recent performances drew attention to his possible future responsibilities.

Sooryavanshi has played only eight red-ball matches so far. Tendulkar used that limited experience as the basis for his assessment.

The statement adds to the debate around how quickly young players should be given captaincy duties in Indian cricket.
