Saim Ayub steps away from Pakistan tri-series squad

Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been released from the ODI tri-series squad at his own request to return to domestic cricket and work on his batting form. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed on Monday that both the team management and national selection committee agreed to the request after discussions with head coach Mike Hesson.

Ayub was dismissed for six in Pakistan's one-wicket win over England on Sunday, contributing to an early top-order collapse. Sahibzada Farhan has been added to the squad as his replacement.

Pakistan have already qualified for the tri-series final and face Sri Lanka in the fifth league match at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
