Sanju Samson says India aims to finish games in the powerplay

Sanju Samson said India tries to kill games in the powerplay when they get off to a flyer, regardless of the target. He made 67 off 33 as India chased down 226 to beat New Zealand by four wickets in the first T20I at Christchurch on Thursday.

Samson and Abhishek Sharma put on 93 in the first six overs, then watched a middle-order wobble turn the chase into a scramble. Naman Dhir stayed unbeaten on 42 off 15 to finish the job with two balls left.

The opener added he doesn't play to silence critics; he sticks to his process. India lead the five-match series 1-0, with the second match on Saturday.
