Sanju Samson says India’s experience helped secure Asian Games gold

Sanju Samson said India’s experienced squad managed energy and focus during a rain-disrupted build-up to the Asian Games final. He said the team’s preparation proved decisive in the 19-run win over Pakistan on October 3.

Abhishek Sharma scored 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 off 22 as India posted 211 for six. Pakistan replied with 192 for six, with Hasan Nawaz making 96.

Samson said the side had to work hard for the victory and did not receive the gold medal easily. India retained the title they won in Hangzhou in 2023.
