Sanju Samson scores 82 as India post 249 for five against West Indies

Sanju Samson scored 82 off 41 balls to help India reach 249 for five in the second T20I against West Indies in Ranchi on Friday. The Kerala batter equalled Virat Kohli's record for the fastest fifty by an Indian against West Indies, reaching the mark in 21 balls.

Samson hit nine fours and four sixes, including four consecutive boundaries off Akeal Hosein. He survived two dropped chances. Abhishek Sharma made 21 before falling to Roston Chase, and Ishan Kishan was dismissed for 43.

Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma added crucial runs in the middle order. West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first at the JSCA International Stadium, where dew is expected to play a role later in the match.
