Saxena returns to Mumbai Ranji squad after injury and Jaiswal call-up open door

Left-hander Saxena has been recalled to the Mumbai Ranji squad. The call follows an injury to Mhatre and Yashasvi Jaiswal's India call-up, which together created the opening. Saxena returns to the squad with the chance to fill the gap at the top of the order.

Mumbai's squad preparations for the Ranji Trophy season now include the left-hander as a direct replacement option. The dual developments of the injury and the India call-up have shifted the selection equation in the domestic side.

Selectors will assess Saxena's form in the upcoming matches to decide his role in the batting lineup. The recall gives the 28-year-old another opportunity to stake a claim for regular inclusion.
