Scott Borthwick to retire after 2026 season

Scott Borthwick will retire from professional cricket at the end of the 2026 season. The Durham batter and former captain has played 18 years at the professional level.

Borthwick will move into a full-time coaching role after hanging up his boots. Durham confirmed the timeline on Tuesday.

The club has not named a successor for the captaincy. Borthwick led Durham in both red-ball and white-ball cricket during his tenure.
