Selectors delay ODI squad announcement to assess India A performers against Australia A

India's selectors have delayed announcing the ODI squad for the New Zealand tour until next week. The decision allows them to evaluate players in the ongoing unofficial ODI series between India A and Australia A.

The first ODI between India and New Zealand is scheduled for November 4 in Auckland. Selectors plan to keep an alternate squad ready for the last two ODIs as Test regulars are likely to leave for red-ball preparations.

Rajat Patidar scored 53 in India A's first 50-over match while Suryansh Shedge took 4 for 40. The selectors are using the India A series as a testing ground for fringe contenders ahead of the World Cup cycle.
