Shahidi reprimanded for pitch damage in Chennai ODI

Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi copped an official reprimand and one demerit point from the ICC for deliberately damaging the pitch during the third ODI against India in Chennai. The breach occurred while Afghanistan batted in the limited-overs series.

The demerit point stays on his record for 24 months under ICC rules. Shahidi's the first player from the series to face such disciplinary action.
