Shami takes 4 for 30 as Bengal bowl Delhi out for 240 on Ranji opening day

Mohammed Shami claimed four wickets for 30 runs as Bengal dismissed Delhi for 240 on the first day of their Ranji Trophy match in Kalyani. Shami removed Yash Dhull, Ayush Doseja, Hrithik Shokeen and Divij Mehra.

Bengal fielded their international pace trio of Shami, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar along with spinners Pradipta Pramanik and Aamir Gani, both making comebacks. Delhi were led by Ayush Badoni and included Yash Dhull, Anuj Rawat and last season's prolific scorers Sanat Sangwan and Ayush Doseja.

The match marks the start of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy season. Bengal aim to build on their semifinal finish last year while Delhi, under new coach Vijay Dahiya, target a return to the knockout stage.
