Shreevats Goswami criticises Shamar Joseph for targeting Arshdeep Singh
Shreevats Goswami said Shamar Joseph's short-ball barrage at Arshdeep Singh crossed the line of acceptable conduct.
Shreevats Goswami criticised Shamar Joseph for bowling short deliveries at Arshdeep Singh during the final over of the fourth T20I in Hyderabad. India needed 35 runs with one wicket left when Joseph continued to target the tailender's body despite the result being decided.
One delivery struck Arshdeep around the shoulder and arm, forcing him to receive treatment before resuming. Captain Shreyas Iyer eventually urged Arshdeep to retire hurt, ending the match.
Goswami posted on X that Joseph's approach was not in the spirit of the game and that he should have bowled at the stumps instead. West Indies won by 24 runs to level the series at 2-2 ahead of the decider in Bengaluru.
