Shreyas Iyer hails Japan after India win

India beat Japan by two runs in a rain-shortened five-over T20I at Sano on Tuesday. Shreyas Iyer said he hadn't expected to play Japan during his career, and he called the hospitality brilliant. The visitors posted 32 for 4, Japan finished on 30 for 3, and the game was the first senior men's T20I between the two sides.

Iyer studied video of the Japanese players beforehand and hoped fans would see a competitive match. The fixture formed part of celebrations marking 75 years of diplomatic ties between India and Japan, and the captain noted the cultural shift from the usual touring destinations.
