Shreyas Iyer hopes rain stays away from historic Japan T20I

India captain Shreyas Iyer expressed excitement ahead of Tuesday's one-off T20I against Japan at Sano. The match celebrates 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Iyer said he never imagined lining up against Japan when growing up in India.

Iyer described the hospitality as brilliant and said he is looking forward to embracing the new culture. He noted that the discipline and people are very different from tours to Australia, England or New Zealand. Monday's practice session was cancelled due to rain from Typhoon Dujuan.

Iyer said he has watched some reels of Japanese players but admitted the team does not know much about the conditions. He expressed hope that rain will not affect the contest and that spectators will see a competitive game.
