Shubman Gill confirms Mohammed Siraj is not injured after Sri Lanka series
Shubman Gill says Mohammed Siraj was fit throughout the Sri Lanka series despite the pacer's reduced workload.
Shubman Gill says Mohammed Siraj wasn't injured during India's 1-0 series win in Sri Lanka. The captain spoke after Siraj took just four wickets across four innings and bowled at reduced pace with a shorter run-up.
Gill brushed aside questions about fitness even though Siraj landed heavily trying to take a catch in Colombo. He said bowlers need time to settle into conditions and that Siraj was available for both Tests.
India still trail in the World Test Championship points race after the drawn second match. Gill thinks qualification remains possible.
