Shubman Gill says India need time to adapt before Sri Lanka Tests

India captain Shubman Gill said the team requires a week or ten days of preparation to adapt to conditions and spin ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka. The first match starts in Galle and marks India's 600th Test.

Jasprit Bumrah's absence through injury leaves a gap in the pace attack, particularly if the Galle pitch offers limited assistance for fast bowlers. Gill noted that other bowlers will have the opportunity to step up in the series.

The captain stressed that adequate preparation time remains essential for the side to adjust to the spin-friendly conditions expected in Sri Lanka.
