Will Kuldeep Yadav play the second Test in Colombo?

India's spin coach Sairaj Bahutule backed Kuldeep Yadav to bounce back but noted that pitch conditions will determine his selection for the second Test in Colombo. The wrist-spinner took just one wicket in 25 overs across both innings in Galle.

Sri Lanka are likely to field more left-handers in the second Test, which could prompt India to consider off-spinner Saransh Jain for a debut. Ravindra Jadeja and Manav Suthar shared 14 wickets between them in Galle.

Venkatesh Prasad warned against rushing to drop Kuldeep after one poor performance. The team retains three frontline spinners ahead of the Colombo Test starting on Friday.
