Smaran Ravichandran takes reflex catch to dismiss Abdul Samad

Smaran Ravichandran took a reflex catch at slip to dismiss Abdul Samad on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy 2026. The Sunrisers Hyderabad youngster was representing South Zone against North Zone at the time of the dismissal.

The catch came during South Zone's first innings on Sunday, August 30. Ravichandran's fielding contribution stood out in a match that featured multiple players from the Indian Premier League franchises.

Ravichandran had aggregated 950 runs in the previous Ranji Trophy season. He currently plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 season alongside players including Pat Cummins and Ishan Kishan.
