Smriti Mandhana became the second-highest run-scorer in women's international cricket history during India's Women's Asia Cup opener against Thailand. She reached 10,756 runs, surpassing New Zealand's Suzie Bates. The left-hander achieved the milestone while batting in India's 159 for nine total.

Mandhana hit four fours in the opening over of the match. She has now joined an elite group alongside Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma. The opener has been India's most consistent batter across formats in recent years.
