Somerset beat Leicestershire by 377 runs to stay top of County Championship

Somerset remained top of Division One after beating Leicestershire by 377 runs at Taunton. Craig Overton finished with four for 33 and Jack Leach took three for 30 as the visitors were bowled out twice inside three days.

Tom Nicholls scored his maiden Championship hundred in Somerset's first innings. The total gave the bowlers a platform once the pitch began to wear.

Leicestershire's second collapse followed a familiar pattern. Pace damaged the top order early, spin finished the lower order, and the surface offered increasing assistance as the match progressed.
